Farewell to Sunny

Last Sunday was a farewell to Sunny.

The food was good.

The fellowship was good.

The place was good (minus the rain).

But none of it detracts from the fact that Sunny is leaving us by next Sunday.

As MYF, we wish you a safe trip back home. And we will miss you. Thank you for being a part of us this eight months. God bless and all glory back to Him. We will meet again.

Report: YLDP

Like it or not, we are all prospective leaders. Leaders of society and leaders of influence. With or without positions, we all lead and influence people. We, are youth leaders.

So is the reason of Methodist's TRAC YLDP - Youth Leader's Development Programme. To develop and train leaders of today, and tomorrow. Here contains a simple report of what went on.

-------

This year, 5 of us went: Me, Kent, George, Edmund and Anna. With Kent and me going for level 3 (the final level) and the others going for level 1. Also, we were given the opportunity to lead worship in one of the plenary sessions in conjunction with Klang Wesley. It was a great experience. We learnt a lot.

Touchdown. This year's YLDP theme. Have we done ours? And where are our touchdowns? Will God be proud of us at the final day?

This was a lingering question left to us at I.J. Barre, Tanah Rata in the space of 5 days. The final of a series of YLDP this time around, it was one of hard lingering questions and reassurances.

Here's a example: Kent's testimony. (proof read and grammatically corrected, tat is... XD)

"Last year's YLDP was very discouraging for me. As such, I did not want to go to the YLDP camp this year. However, God told me to go for this year's YLDP, so I went. Well, I am truly blessed by this camp. I have seen God moving and people just worshiping the Lord with their whole heart.

Among the things we learn, we learn that the Bible not only a rule book but also a play book to win the race of life.
Also, we have to test our faith and taste that how good is the Lord.

I also experienced that a lot of people need healing with relationship and some of us need to let go the unforgiveness and pain. During ministry time, some of us were praying for each other and encouraging others. I was truly blessed."

This is how good God is. Reassurances of His love and the painful reminders that we need to obey his word, in order to achieve the touchdowns. I personally was ministered to by the Lord, in the games, in the level workshops and definitely during the plenary sessions. Personally, this is by far the best camp I've been in so far. Truly all glory to God.

One song that lingers in our hearts in the closing hours of the camp:

"What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
"
-Robert Lowry-

Kent:
"Funny moments:
Tim sing high note, hahaha!
Kent lost the way, hahaha!
What so funny about that?
Well the reason it is funny because I like to laugh! hahahaha!"

Debate Week: Paktology

Should we or should we not? Here are the photos:

Opposition taking the stand. He's apparently not 'fishing' this time around.

And the other side is apparently... very.... shy.

Edmund. My goodness he's blur.

Team A

Team B

Our dearest Uncle Chie watching proceedings... Obviously with a (=.=") remark.

Then he started explaining his point of view.

That was fun. We should have more debates like this.

In the meantime:
MYF is taking a break for... YLDP!!!!!!!!! See you there, guys. Those not going, so sad... :-p
I'm excited.Are you?

Tim
Missions, Evangelism, and blur. haha.

The following is an announcement by our counselor, Uncle Chie:-

Dear friends,

The Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) of Life Methodist Church Puchong (LMCP) is organizing our annual sleepover and
all of you are invited!! It will be held on the 28th-29th of December 2009 (Monday to Tuesday). This year, we are having the No Apologies team with us! Each participant has to pay RM15 to cover the No Apologies Sleepover 2009 expenses for workshop materials and fellowship dinner.

What is No Apologies?
No Apologies is a programme conducted by Focus on the Family.
The Truth about Life, Love and Sex is a program for
teenagers and young adults-who want to think seriously about the what,
when and how of their own sexuality. Within this program, you will
have opportunities to learn more about yourself and to challenge
yourself with the question, "How should I handle the sexual side of my
life today, and in the years to come?" Everybody needs to think about
how he or she will deal with the powerful mystery of sex before
crucial decisions must be made. Everyone should have a plan of action
in place and understand why it’s been adopted before the storm of
sexual urges and feelings break overhead.
This is your time to explore the truth about life, love and sex-to
examine your character and establish your dreams -to chart a course
that will have the best and healthiest outcomes-and to decide to live
with NO APOLOGIES.

See the flyer attached to this email for details. It'll be a fruitful programme, meeting new friends and fellowshipping together, with wacky games, singspiration and rocking time. Discover the truth about life, love and sex. Do come and enjoy your school holiday for a one-night sleepover! Registration form and map can be downloaded from our church website at http://www.lifexwire.blogspot.com/ or http://lifemethodist.org/ Dateline is on the 10th of December 2009.
